Citizens' Alliance for Secure Elections

free, fair and accurate elections

Many voters may be disenfranchised this election cycle due to registration errors. Sometimes registrations do not get entered into the system on time. Sometimes registrations are typed incorrectly. Most of the time these are honest mistakes by individuals doing the best job they can. Even an innocent mistake can cost you your right to vote.

If you do not show up in your precinct's poll book you will be required to vote a provisional ballot. If it turns out your registration is not on the Board of Elections list (whether innocent mistake or not), your vote will NOT count. Twenty-two percent of provisional ballots cast in Ohio 2004 were rejected; 19% in 2006. Make sure your registration shows up accurately. Here's how.
